Cal Field Hockey Team Defeat Bermuda

The University of California Field Hockey team began their preseason tour of Bermuda with a 9 – 2 win over Bermuda at the National Sports Center.

Cal took the lead in the 9th minute when Daniella Rhodes scored from a penalty corner, ten minutes later Bermuda was level when Yvonna Osbourn scored from a penalty corner. Cal would go back in front in the 25th minute when Rhodes scored a field goal her second goal of the game in the 25th minute, three minutes later it was 3 – 1 when Sam Imokawa scored.

Cal extended their lead to 4 – 1 in the 42nd minute with a penalty corner goal off the stick of Sydney Decher, Bermuda pulled a goal back in the 45th minute when Mallory Towlson scored a field goal.

In the 50th minute Cal restored their three goal lead when Decher scored from a penalty stroke. Cassidy Puleo made it 6 – 2 in the 54th minute with a field goal, before Elana Eisenberg made it 7 – 2 one minute later with a field goal.

Sophie Everett scored a field goal in the 56th minute extending the lead to 8 – 2, and Eisenberg made it 9 – 2 with a field goal in the 57th minute.
