Paris: If the greatest player in badminton history, Lin Dan, teams up with the iconic Hong Kong/Chinese actress Maggie Cheung Man-yuk, what kind of magic might unfold?

The outcome would surely be brimming with entertainment.

Cheung is widely recognized as one of the most illustrious actresses in the history of Hong Kong cinema. She has won numerous awards throughout her career, including five Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actress (a record), four Golden Horse Awards for Best Actress (another record), the Best Actress Award at the 1992 Berlin International Film Festival and Best Actress at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.

Despite her remarkable achievements, Cheung has been absent from the movie scene since 2010. However, she recently received an invitation to participate in the “Paris 100 China-France Badminton Charity Gala” event, organized by Chinese badminton legend Lin Dan. The event commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France and also serves as a precursor to the 2024 Olympics.

The 59-year-old Maggie Cheung attended the badminton match with high spirits but remained low-profile as she dressed in a white sports shirt and black pants. Interestingly, prior to the event, the event was only focused on the reunion of the four badminton legends, Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat, and Peter Gade in Paris. Lin Dan and the official Weibo account of the event did not even post any photos of Maggie Cheung.

Maggie Cheung and Lin Dan teamed up to form the Chinese team against Alex Lanier and Raphael Sachetat representing France. After a riveting three-game match, the French team narrowly won 2-1.
