New Records Set In Swimming Championships

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association’s National Championships got underway at the National Sports Center, with multiple new records set.

In the girls 50 meter backstroke preliminaries, Emma Harvey broke the national record by clocking a time of 28.91, and she also broke girl’s 50 meter butterfly national record with a time of 27.09, during the preliminaries.

Her brother Jack Harvey then broke the boy’s 200 meter back stroke time trial national record time in the preliminaries touching the wall in 2:04.01.

Elijah Daley would break the 17-18 boy’s 200 butterfly age group and national record clocking 2:08.66.

The girls 13 & over 100 LC meter freestyle A final saw Emma Harvey clock a winning time of 56.95, Madelyn Moore was second in 57.95, and Bella Howes was third clocking 58.33.

Benedict Parfit won the boys 13 & over 100 LC meter freestyle A final clocking a time of 53.47, Finn Moseley was second in 53.56, and Connor Hupman was third clocking 57.52.
