The four badminton legends treated the audience to an exhilarating men’s doubles match, with Lin Dan partnering with Taufik Hidayat and Lee Chong Wei teaming up with Peter Gade. This created an electrifying exhibition match. In the end, it was the duo of Lee Chong Wei and Peter Gade who emerged triumphant.

During the evening event, all four badminton legends were accompanied by their families in Paris. For instance, Lee Chong Wei brought his wife Wong Mew Choo along with their eldest and second sons, while Lin Dan’s son also participated in the festivities.

2024 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, coinciding with the Olympic Games in Paris. The venue for the “Paris 100 China-France Badminton Charity Gala” was organized by Olympic champion Lin Dan. The exhibition match and interactions took place at the GUSTAVE EIFFEL LOUNGE inside the Eiffel Tower, 57 meters above the ground, providing a panoramic view of Paris.

Additionally, the four legends also interacted with young badminton players from around the world, members of the French team, and representatives from the China-France entertainment industry. Apart from the exhibition matches, the event also featured a charity auction and a banquet.

The auction featured limited edition collectibles donated by sponsoring companies, entrepreneurs, the Badminton World Federation, athletes, and artists. Those auction items include Lin Dan’s signed AT700 racket used in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II racket used in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games; Lee Chong Wei’s Duora10 racket used in the 2016 Rio Olympics; Peter Gade’s signed jerseys from 2009-2010 competitions and the ARCSABER 10 PG racket used in the 2010 Paris World Championships; as well as Taufik Hidayat’s final career-signed jersey.
